My journey began with the honor of serving in the U.S. Army, which led me to Iraq in 2004. During that chapter of my life, I was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for injuries sustained in combat—a life-changing experience that eventually guided me toward the healing and freedom I found through mountain biking.
